Editorial notes
Last updated October 17, 2026
This page explains how articles on New Day Gluten Free are written, checked and corrected. It applies to every recipe and guide on the site.
The byline
Every article is signed The New Day Notebook. That is our editorial team, not a person. We do not use invented author names, photos or credentials, and we do not write personal stories that did not happen.
How a piece is made
- Topic. We choose questions people actually ask when they cook or live gluten-free: how to build a flour blend, what to ask a restaurant, which labels to read.
- Draft. A first draft is prepared with the help of an AI writing tool, using a fixed set of rules: no invented statistics, studies or quotes, no brand recommendations, and no medical claims beyond widely accepted facts.
- Separate check. A second, independent review pass looks for errors: gluten facts, cross-contact advice, unsupported numbers, and in recipes, whether quantities, pan sizes, times and temperatures add up.
- Editor. An editor reads the result, removes anything that cannot be supported, and decides whether it is ready to publish.
What we will and won’t say
- We state widely accepted facts plainly, for example that a strict gluten-free diet is the standard way celiac disease is managed, and that the US FDA’s gluten-free label means a food contains less than 20 parts per million of gluten.
- We do not give personal medical advice, promise that a food or restaurant is safe, or suggest that small amounts of gluten are fine.
- We do not claim recipes were tested in a kitchen, and we do not publish ratings or reviews we did not receive.
- We use US spelling and measurements, with metric in parentheses.
Sources
For health and labeling topics we rely on the general guidance of public health bodies, such as the US Food and Drug Administration and the National Institutes of Health, and on established professional guidance for celiac disease. When rules differ between countries, we say so and focus on US labels.
